The legacy of Witch Hunters is passed down through the generations, though any mortal with a hatred for magic can become a Hunter independently.
Salem Witch TrialsEdit
In the late 17th century, Witches became hated and feared for their powers. During these times, the Witch Hunters rose to power and started a crusade against magic. They hunted down and killed anyone suspected of being a witch without fair trial or proof. These 'witches' were often hanged, drowned and burned at the stake.
CharmedEditThe Elders once sent the Charmed Ones back the the 17th Century, where the sisters ran into a group of Witch Hunters led by a woman named Ruth Cobb, who was secretly a witch herself. The sisters helped a coven of witches and eventually helped give a young woman birth to Melinda Warren, their own ancestor.
The Charmed Ones later faced a present-day Witch Hunter named Jackman, who posed as an FBI agent. He tricked the sisters into helping him find the daughter of a Witch and later tried to kill them all. However, he was then killed by Cole Turner when he tried to shoot Phoebe and Cole swapped their places, causing him to get shot by his own bullet.
- Main article: Jake Porter
The Chosen ran into a young Witch Hunter called Jake Porter, who came from a long line of hunters. He was trained to hate Witches, but eventually realized there were worse things out there to hunt. His sister Makayla Porter, however, remained true to her family legacy and continued hunting witches. She was hired to kill the Chosen, but was defeated and had her memory erased.
Equipment and AbilitiesEdit
Witch Hunters often possess a wide variety of weapons and tools in their war against magic. They are also trained in various forms of armed and unarmed combat. They have been known to use talismans or other items to repel and resist magic. They may also use ancient symbols to ward off and disable magic in certain locations.
