Merpeople are immortal beings of the sea. Their hearts are as cold as the water and they can spend an eternity exploring the seas. Their hearts can be warmed when they become lonely or find true love, leading them to desire a mortal life on land away from their people.
Female merpeople are known as mermaids and have golden-scaled tails. Their male counterparts are known as mermen and have red-copper scales.
History
Mylie
In 2002, a mermaid named Mylie wanted to find love and made a deal with a Sea Hag to gain legs. She fell in love with a mortal named Craig, though the Sea Hag planned to offer her immortality to a demon named Necron. When her time was running out, Mylie went to the Charmed Ones for help. When she revealed her true form to Craig, he freaked out and ran away. The Sea Hag then appeared and captured Mylie.
In order to find Mylie, the sisters cast a spell which turned Phoebe into a mermaid. Meanwhile, the Sea Hag manipulated Mylie into giving up her immortality with an Auger Shell. When the sisters found her, Paige orbed the shell onto the Sea Hag and vanquished her. As Mylie was still dying, Leo orbed Craig to the cavern and he confessed his love. Mylie then became mortal and was healed.
Ridley and Nadia
Ridley and Nadia were two merpeople who fell in love and wanted to spend their lives together on land. They stole some magical bracelets from a Sea Hag to gain human legs, though Nadia was kidnapped by wizards before they could leave the sea. Ridley asked the Chosen to save her. When the couple was reunited, Duncan enchanted some rings for them and they started their human lives together.
Powers and Abilities
Active Powers
- Super Strength: The ability to possess physical strength beyond humanly possible.
- Super Speed: The ability to move at superhuman speeds. Merpeople can swim at superhuman speeds.
- Sensing: The ability to determine the location and status of other beings by concentrating on them.
- Luring: The ability to magically draw in, seduce or enthrall other beings. Merpeople can lure other beings with their music.
Passive Powers
- High Resistance: The ability to be highly resistant to physical and magical harm. Merpeople are especially resistant to extreme temperatures.
- Immortality: The ability to possess a possibly infinite lifespan and an arrested aging process.
