"I can’t stand on the sidelines and watch my friends die. I’m tired of being a pacifist, unable to protect the people I care about."
—Noah to Leo.[src]

Noah is a Whitelighter and former Elder. As a young Elder, Noah had a more liberal view on matters and was displeased with the way the council operated. After a failed attempt to overthrow the council, Noah was demoted to Whitelighter. He was later appointed as the new Whitelighter of the Halliwell sisters and started a relationship with Prue Halliwell.

History[]

As a Mortal[]

Nothing is known about Noah's life as a mortal, except that it ended prematurely when he was killed with a gun. After his death, he came a Whitelighter and was allowed to see his past lives.

Becoming an Elder[]

Shortly after the Titans killed many of the Elders, Noah was guiding a coven of witches in London. One night, the entire coven was killed by an Empusa. She nearly killed Noah until Leo Wyatt intervened and vanquished her. He orbed Noah to the Heavens and offered him the chance to become an Elder, which Noah accepted, as he was tired of not being able to save the people he cared about.

During his time as an Elder, Noah became good friends with Leo, who trained him, and Kevin, another young Elder. Noah soon became disillusioned with the council, as he felt they were too conservative and not acting enough.

After the Avatar incident, Leo was sent to earth without his memories, to find out where he truly belonged. Noah was suspicious of Odin, believing he could manipulate the situation. When Leo chose his family over the council, Noah was glad for his friend, but believed that the council had lost another voice of reason.

During the Ultimate Battle, Noah was furious that the Elders had turned their backs on the Charmed Ones, leaving them to fight this battle alone. After a heated argument with Odin, the former orbed Noah away to cool down. Noah was then approached by Calliope, another Whitelighter who supported his ideas.

The Closing Chapter[]

Noah appeared alongside Odin when the Elders asked the Charmed Ones to reclaim Magic School, six months after the Ultimate Battle. However, due to Odin's history with the sisters, the meeting quickly turned into a heated discussion. Noah was shocked when Odin went as far as threatening the sisters and tried to calm the situation with little success. Once Odin left, Noah and Leo explained that saving the school was not a favour for the Elders, but something that was important to the entire magical community.

When Piper asked where the Elders were during the Ultimate Battle, Noah informed her that the older generation of Elders, under leadership of Odin, didn't want to intervene. Noah expressed his frustration with the situation and hinted that he was planning some kind of change up there. When Noah explained why Magic School was needed, the sisters agreed to save it, but only for the future of magic.

Once Magic School was saved, Noah appeared before Paige on the Golden Gate Bridge and informed her that Magic School was being reopened, though he expressed his concerns about getting the teachers and students back. He also asked how Billie was doing. When Paige said she wished there was more she could do for Billie, Noah told her that she would be able to help her when she's ready.

Attempting a Rebellion[]

Along with Calliope, Noah gathered many Whitelighters in the hope of starting a rebellion, as he was becoming more and more discontent with the way the Elders operated. He was interrupted by Paige Matthews, who had heard about the meeting from Kyle Brody. Both of them feared that the rebellion would cause more harm than good and eventually managed to convince Noah to stand down. Noah realized that he was happy to spend his life with Calliope, whom he had fallen in love with, and that he should be content with what he had.

The Once and Future Evil[]

Noah reappeared alongside Sandra to heal Phoebe, Paige and the future versions of Chris, Melinda and Prue after evil Wyatt appeared from the future and injured them. They revealed that the Elders were opposed to getting involved and that they defied the council's orders to heal them. Noah then hinted that he and Paige have run into each other a couple of times. He and Sandra informed them that it was important to find Wyatt quickly, as his powers were becoming too much to contain.

War in the Heavens[]

For several years, Noah was content with his life, being with Calliope and training new Whitelighters. They created a hideaway in the mountains where they could be together, though Noah knew that Calliope still had problems with the council. One day, she was sent on a mission by Odin and came back mortally wounded. As she lay dying, she accused Odin of setting her up and told Noah of an artifact that could help overthrow the corrupt council.

Blinded by grief and anger towards Odin, Noah charged the Heavens and used the Apple of Discord against many Whitelighters, turning them to his side. A battle soon erupted between Whitelighters until the Elders revealed themselves. Noah argued with Odin and used the apple on Several Elders, including Kevin. When Noah and Odin attacked each other, Sandra jumped in the middle and was injured.

The battle was ended when Paige arrived with Leo and orbed the Apple away from Noah. She reversed its influence and put it back in the vault. Horrified by what he had done, Noah collapsed and revealed that Calliope had been killed. Odin denied setting up Calliope, which Sandra confirmed. The Elders decided that Noah needed to be punished for his actions.

While Odin wanted to recycle Noah, Sandra proposed that he be stripped of his status and return to being a Whitelighter again. Odin agreed under the condition that Noah would spend time imprisoned until they found a worthy cause for him. Noah did not object, as he felt that he deserved worse for what he had done. He was stripped of his rank and taken away.

Demoted to Whitelighter[]

In 2029, Odin appointed him to become the Whitelighter of Prue, Penny and Payton Halliwell in an attempt to regain the loyalty of the Halliwells in the fight against the Source of All Evil. Noah objected, as he did not want to trick the sisters and be honest with them, though Odin ordered him to gain their trust.

Noah helped the sisters against the Spirit Killer Bryce to gain their trust, though the sisters were suspicious of him. Their doubts were further enhanced when Bryce read Noah's mind and warned the sisters about him. However, the Elders, including Sandra remained convinced that he needed to gain their trust and the sisters agreed to having him as their Whitelighter.

Noah later confronted Prue over her relationship with Matt, a spirit. He feared that it would eventually lead to Matt becoming an evil spirit and later convinced him to move on. He also informed the Elders about Chris' plans to vanquish the Source and provided him with the spell needed to return the nexus.

Confronted by Prue[]

When Noah returned some time later, Prue confronted him over his lies and secrets. Noah later took her somewhere private and explained how the Elders had sent him to get them back on their side. He also informed her that he had done something wrong in the past and that this was his chance at redemption. Prue decided to forgive him as long as there would be no more secrets and lies. Noah was later present when possessed mortals attacks the manor and helped to take care of the possessed Ryan along with Leo at Magic School while the cousins fought off the possessed.

After hearing from her mother of Noah's past as Elder, Prue called him to talk about it, and Noah admitted that he did not tell her why he thought she would not trust him if she had known, and why not it seemed important as it was a thing of the past. When Prue tried to leave, he stopped her, and when she felt his emotions, she ended up kissing him, even though she broke off almost immediately. Noah finally admitted that he had feelings for Prue and she replied she felt the same, but that she couldn't be with someone who was afraid to show her who he really was.

Shortly thereafter, Julian was forced to ask Phoebe for help to get rid of the Wraith sent to hunt him down by his grandmother, and Prue had himself taken away by Noah. When the Whitelighter asked her why she took it so badly with Julian, Prue admitted that she feared that the Demon-Witch could destroy her family. Noah, however, pointed out that Julian had never asked for anything that had happened to him. The two then kissed.

Noah later went to the hotel in search of Prue and Penny, but found only Coop who told him that he knew something about him and that he considered him a good man. Noah then left.

Weeks later Noah went to have breakfast with Prue, but he arrived late because one of his charges had needed him and he had to leave immediately, because he was summoned by the Elders. The elders informed him that the cousins needed to relive their past lives, to prepare themselves to face a threat in the present. Later Noah went to the manor and ran into Dylan; having found that he had no ill intentions, he explained to him how reincarnation worked, after which the half-manticore returned to work, and Noah tried to make Prue understand that he should wake up as soon as possible. When the cousins woke up, Henry was angry with Noah, since the past life of Noah Sir Percival had killed the past life of Henry Kay. When Prue asked him if he already knew that their past lives had been in love, Noah replied that since past lives did not always affect the present he had never considered it important. In addition, the cousins discovered that Morrigan was reborn and that its essence was still linked to the soul of Wyatt; so if Morrigan had been eliminated, Wyatt would have died with her. After Noah went to Prue's house and at his request, he told her about his past.

Later, Penny developed the power of hypnosis and began to abuse it. When Noah went to tell her that if she continued like this, the power would be taken away from her, she hypnotized him and ordered him to drop the matter and spend time with Prue. However, Penny eventually regretted the wrongdoing and learned to use her power responsibly, which Noah himself recognized.

Some time later, Noah met with Prue in a club, where they met an Empusa. Prue tried to fight her, but the Empusa was immune to her powers so they had no choice but to flee abandoning an innocent in the clutches of the demon. Noah went to seek advice from the Elders about how to deal with the Empusa and there he met his old friend Kevin, with whom he had not spoken to for years. Noah blamed Kevin for treating him like a pariah like the others. Kevin replied that things were delicate and warned Noah not to make the same mistake with Calliope with Prue. However, Noah realized that there was still hope for their friendship. Sandra told him then that Noah and the sisters were supposed to solve their problem by themselves.

The next morning, when Noah told Penny that the Elders could not help them and that they could not ask their cousins for help, she got angry. The two found a potion and a spell at the Magic School to use against the Empusa. The Empusa was located thanks to a premonition from Payton, but they did not succeed in defeating it. When the demon tried to kill Noah, Prue found the strength to oppose her. Using her empathy, she channelled the emotions of the whole city into the Empusa, vanquishing her.

Saving Grace[]

Some time later, Wyatt decided to arrange a double date with Dylan, Prue and Noah, to get to know Noah better; unfortunately, Noah and Wyatt ended up quarrelling so Prue and Dylan decided to leave. However, the elders summoned both Noah and Wyatt to entrust them with the task of leading Aubrey Collins away from a dark path, because she was obsessed with the desire to take revenge on a warlock who had killed her sister and her Whitelighter. When Noah observed that they were sending them both because the Elders wanted Wyatt to keep an eye on him, Odin confirmed it, and although Wyatt did not feel comfortable in such a situation, Sandra pointed out that both of them could learn from the experience, while Odin stated that it was important to save Aubrey as she was the last remaining member of a very powerful magical family.

Wyatt decided to ask his aunt Paige for advice. Paige gave them the idea to reverse the spell to call a lost witch, so that it would send them to Aubrey and advised to try to earn her trust. Wyatt cast the spell aided by Paige and his cousins, and he and Noah faced Aubrey. They explained that killing for revenge was wrong, but Aubrey refused to listen to them and assaulted them when they tried to stop her. Noah recovered before Wyatt and healed him. The two then had a conversation that made Wyatt understand that Noah was a good person and that he truly loved Prue.

The two later found Aubrey in a clothing store again, but to his surprise, Grace was there as well. When Aubrey said that Grace had fallen in love with the warlock that had killed her sister, Wyatt did not want to believe it, but the facts convinced him. Shortly thereafter, Paige, Laura and Henry also arrived, trying in vain to reason with Grace. At one point, Aubrey pushed them all back with a telekinetic wave of energy, and tried to kill the warlock, but Grace stabbed her with an athame, killing her, absorbing her powers, and becoming a warlock. Grace seemed satisfied with her transformation and wanted to start a life with Luke; however, Luke was frozen by Laura and shattered when Grace touched him. Irritated by his death, Grace tried to kill her twin but was stopped by Wyatt. However, nobody had the strength to face Grace, so she left.

When Noah went to report to the Elders, Wyatt joined him because he wanted to let the Elders know that Noah had done all he could. Sandra joined them shortly thereafter, and said that the incident was not their fault, that both had made progress, and that Noah could start having other charges. When she left, Wyatt apologized to Noah for their fight and said he hoped they could become friends. Noah went to Prue to inform her of what had happened, and when she knew what Grace had done, she burst into tears in his arms.

At one point, Payton cast the truth spell in order to find out if her boyfriend could accept her being a witch, and since she had used magic for personal gain, her spell backfired and affected her entire high school. Noah monitored the situation, but did not intervene because it was a lesson Payton had to learn on her own. Some time later Prue, is given the task of interviewing Lynn Monroe, a young entrepreneur, but while she did so the two were attacked by a demon and Prue called Noah to help, entrusting him with the task of protecting the innocent. Noah cloaked Lynn so that she could not be found by the demon and, sensing that Prue was injured, he went to heal her. Prue rushed to the Temple of Love using Connor's ring, a Cupid she had just saved, giving Noah the task of protecting Connor as well. When the emergency was over, Noah erased Lynn's memories, but Lynn had left traces of what had happened so Prue chose to reveal the truth.

Watching Over Lancelot[]

Since he had been ostracized for years, Noah had no friends, so as her cousin Melinda was getting married, Prue begged her fiancé Ryan to invite Noah to his bachelor party. Noah cared little about it, but he accepted it out of politeness, and when Chris switched places with his past life, he decided to stay and keep an eye on Lancelot, to allow Wyatt to go to the party.

Lancelot, however, did not want to be caged like an animal and in the end, Noah trusted Lancelot enough to let him wander around the manor. As the two explored, with Lancelot being in awe of modern technology, Prue arrived and took Noah to her house to have sex with him. Noah immediately understood that Prue was not acting like herself and immediately returned to the manor, but Lancelot had not resisted the curiosity to see the world of the future and had left the manor.

Noah later joined Laura who told him that she had brought with her to the party a potion that had been drunk by her cousins by mistake and lowered their inhibitions, while Noah told Laura what Chris was doing and what happened with Lancelot. The two decided to work together to track down the others, the first they found being Lancelot, who had broken his leg and had been hospitalized. After explaining the situation to Chris's girlfriend and begging her to look after her boyfriend's body, the two returned to P3, where Noah had sensed the presence of Penny and Payton. The two discovered that Penny had hypnotized a mortal to force him to lap dance for her and her sister, but they managed to bring the sisters to their senses. Soon after Noah stopped hiding from Prue who immediately joined him, and they helped her come to her senses. After Chris returned with a plan to stop Morrigan, he proposed that Payton block Morrigan's premonitions, which Noah offered to help her accomplish.

Losing Prue[]

With Noah's guidance, Payton was able to block Morrigan's visions, whilst Prue and Penny's attempted to convince the Seer to free Wyatt's soul. The latter two failed with Talia sending them back to their house and keeping Julian with her. Prue was concerned about this, because her empathic powers had made her feel that the two loved each other. Noah was worried but eventually the group decided to trust Julian.

As the cousins' predicted, Morrigan attacked Melinda's wedding ceremony, enslaving Coop, Leo, and Henry in the process. Leo and Coop were knocked out whilst Henry went with Paige and Laura to confront Grace, and Noah took them back to the manor to keep them safe and heal Ryan who was injured to defend Melinda. Prue was tragically killed by Morrigan during this time, but when Noah was called by Penny and tried to heal her, it was too late, much to Noah's heartbreak.

Divine Witchervention[]

After the events of the wedding, Noah retreated to the English countryside to find some peace, though he was still wracked with guilt over losing Prue. He was soon found by Kevin, who told him the Elders needed Noah to help guide the cousins in their fight against the Titan, Rhea, who recently escaped her prison, by using the divine essence to turn them into Greek Gods and Goddesses, as well as prevent them from being corrupted by it. After initially refusing, Noah accepted the responsibility and joined Kevin in meeting with Odin and Qetesh.

At the Heavenly Vault, Odin and Qetesh tasked Noah with using the divine essence on the cousins himself as they believe his connection and friendship with them will aid in guiding them, and revealed that due to Prue's death and Grace's corruption, he was assigned as the Whitelighter for all of the remaining cousins. Despite vocalising his disagreement with the plan, Noah later agreed and entered the Vault. In there, he lamented on his actions with Calliope and the Apple of Discord, which filled him with determination to do better. He also stumbled upon a magically hidden doorway that emitted darkness and hatred which Odin chastised him for, so Noah continued on with his responsibilities.

Upon retrieving the vase containing the essence, Noah orbed to the manor where Wyatt, Chris, Laura, Penny, Payton and Henry were gathered. There he discussed with the cousins the resurgence of Rhea and the plan to turn the cousins into Gods in order to stop her. The cousins were reluctant to use the essence due to the potential risk of losing their humanity and Noah agreed that they weren't emotionally ready. However, Penny was looking for a fight and summoned the essence herself, becoming the Goddess of Strife, despite Noah's having planned something different. Realising that Penny won't see to reason unless the others become Gods, he convinced the others to use the essence and transformed them into specific deities he believed suited them best. Once transformed, the cousins began to be influenced by their power and, despite Noah's protests, left for their own personal gain.

Stressed out by his plan going wrong, Noah hesitantly released Penny after being convinced by her that she's in control in order to help him retrieve the others. Deducing Wyatt could do the most harm, he and Penny teleported to Golden Gate Bridge and convinced Wyatt to minimise the storm he was creating and for him to retrieve Chris whilst he and Penny went for Laura. The two found themselves at Magic School and were able to stop Laura from causing any more distress to a professor. Now with Laura, Noah sought out Henry and the trio headed to P3. As Noah tried to talk down Henry from his power trip, he was informed by Laura that Wyatt and Chris were about to fight Rhea, which led to Penny abandoning them to join the fight. After successfully getting through to Henry and get him to reverse his magic, Noah, Henry and Laura began to devise a battle plan.

The trio teleported to the hospital to discover Wyatt and Chris fighting each other. Deducing they were under Penny's influence, they reversed said influence and realised Penny had left with Rhea, which made Noah feel guilty. After the cousins reassured Noah that he was their Whitelighter for a reason, Noah thanked them and decided they needed to regroup back at the manor. There, the group discovered the entire street turned into a sanctuary by Payton, so Noah instructed Henry to reverse it. With the help of the others, Noah was able to get through to Payton. When Laura witnessed visions foretelling the end of the world, Noah instructed her to make note of it to be of use in future. It was through this that Noah believed he had what it takes to be the Whitelighter to the Halliwell family.

When the cousins went to fight Rhea and bring back Penny, Noah paced impatiently in the manor, wishing he could do more, but knowing he couldn't as a Whitelighter. He was joined by Laura who informed him that she painted the visions but couldn't understand them, and was scared of what they meant, so Noah comforted her, which led to a moment between the two. The moment was interrupted by the return of the others who informed Noah of Penny vanquishing Rhea and her refusal to give up her divine power. Together Noah and the cousins came up with a plan to use the Empathy Spell on Penny in order for her to feel her family's grief so she can face her own, with Noah taking charge and assigning the tasks to the cousins, whilst also reassuring Payton that Penny is strong enough to overcome what she's going through.

At a local church, Noah appeared before Penny to try and get through to her one more time. When she refused, Noah was revealed to be a projection by Henry which promptly vanished and revealed he and the cousins had surrounded Penny. When Payton cast the spell, Noah told Penny not to fight the emotions and push through the pain. Once Penny accepted her grief and apologised for what she did, Noah extracted the essence from all the cousins and orbed to the Heavens. There he met with Odin and relayed the events, feeling proud of his decisions and demanded Odin he give the Halliwells deserved praise after saving the world whilst fighting through their own grief at the same time, much to Odin's frustration. When Odin revealed he had an idea of how things would play out, Noah criticised and belittled him then left. The next evening, Noah met up with Laura to discuss the paintings and reminded her not to keep this from the others and agreed to work it out together.

Dragon Tale[]

Noah helped Payton bring to safety an innocent one she and Penny had just saved from the Dragon-Warlocks and when Penny had finished her interrogation with an inspector, he informed the two sisters that he was the son of an old friend of the Charmed Ones, Darryl Morris. Shortly after the rescued girl Mei Ling revealed that she was a Zen disciple with the task of guarding the Dragon Blade, a weapon capable of absorbing souls and essences. Shortly thereafter, Julian and another Zen disciple, Sheng Li, joined them.

It was on that occasion that Julian discovered that Noah had been named his Whitelighter. The group decided to use the blade against their enemies, but Payton did not want to because he had seen Julian stabbed with it in a premonition and ran away. Penny was forced to leave because she was summoned by the police, so it's up to Julian to try and calm Payton, and Noah encouraged him.

Using Penny as bait, the group managed to lure the Dragon-Warlocks, resulting in a fight that defeated one of them, however the other tried to stab Payton with the blade, but Julian stepped in the middle to protect her, getting stabbed. The blade absorbed his soul, but didn't have time to absorb his demonic side as well, so he didn't die. While unconscious, Julian transformed into a demon and in this form destroyed the other Dragon-Warlock, only to then attack the sisters before Mei Ling and Payton gave him back, reversing the transformation. Penny saw in her mind that one night in Bangkok he went to a party, where he passed out and woke up covered in blood, surrounded by the corpses of the other guests with no memory of what had happened but convinced that he was the one who carried out the massacre. Eventually the demon witch agreed to return to live in San Francisco. Penny was now afraid of Julian, and Noah tried to reassure her, telling her he wouldn't tell the Elders anything they had discovered.

Attack on the Heavens[]

Leo told Noah that he needed Payton at the Magic School, so he picked her up from school and brought her to him. At that point Leo revealed that a teacher had been killed and when Payton had no premonitions it was decided to send Payton to investigate her by passing her off as a new student. At that moment the two ex-Elders sensed that there was something wrong in the Heavens and Leo urged Noah to go and check.

Once Noah arrived he discovered that an army of Darklighters had managed to break through the protective barrier and that he had started a massacre, realizing that one of Laura's prophecies had come true. Noah himself risked death, but was saved by Kyle and after eliminating a Darklighter the two were joined by Sandra who explained to them that all this was caused by the return of the Trinity, three Elders who centuries ago had turned evil and created the Darklighters and been trapped in prisons scattered throughout the various planes of existence. Two of them Selene a Amun had broken free and were attacking the Heavens to also recover the last member of their trio Baldr, who had been imprisoned in the Heavenly Vault.

At that moment Selene cast a spell that prevented the Whitelighters from orbiting away and Sandra ordered her two subordinates to enter the vault in search of a weapon. Shortly after the two saw the blonde being killed by Selene. The two then ran into Gretchen who came up with the idea of using a shillelagh which would allow escape and Noah suggested that she go to the Magic School. Noah decided to stay and fight and Kyle wanted to do the same, but the English pushed him to flee with the other Whitelighters because they might need him, after which he went in search of Baldr.

When he had found him, the Dark Elder tried to get him to release him, promising to let him live. Noah refused, but due to the actions of his companions the prison was weakened enough to allow Baldr to escape on his own and at that point it would have been the end of Noah if Odin and Quetesh had not saved him. Shortly after Amun and Selene reached their companion and it became clear that the remaining Elders would not be enough to defeat them, but luckily Kyle was able to open a portal with the shillelagh and while Odin stayed behind to keep a force field active, the others Elders fled. Noah wanted to stay and fight, but Odin convinced him to go. Upon arriving at the Magic School, Noah informed Leo of what had happened.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • His past life is Sir Percival.
  • Noah is English and loves tea.
  • Noah has never owned a car.
  • As revealed in "Return to Camelot", Noah hates guns, as he was killed with one as a mortal.
  • Noah is one of three Whitelighters assigned to the Halliwell family to have a relationship with a family member. The other two are Sam Wilder and Leo Wyatt.
    • Noah shares more similarities with Leo: both are former Elders, both were assigned to three Halliwell sisters, one of whom they each had a relationship with, and both of their relationships ended due to the death of their respective partners.
    • Noah is similar to Harry Greenwood from the Charmed reboot in that both are English whitelighters, who are tasked with guiding three witch sisters and fall in love with the eldest, but she dies. However, given that the Legacy series began long before the reboot, at least some of these similarities are coincidental.
  • Noah is one of five characters to have his name in the title of a story. The other four are Billie, Penny, Grace and Duncan.
  • As of "Divine Witchervention", Noah is currently the Whitelighter who has the most known charges at the same time with eight.
    • He is also the first known Whitelighter to have a charge with demonic blood.
  • Although relations between Whitelighters and their charges are prohibited, the Elders have done nothing to prevent Prue and Noah from dating, probably for fear of further ruining the relationship with Prue's family.
